Kristina's Story
I am a creative arts, board-certified music therapist specialized in supporting adults navigating
addiction and concurrent mental health challenges. My work is guided by a commitment to
supporting people who may be suffering quietly - especially those carrying stigma, shame, or
systemic barriers related to addiction and mental health. I believe healing begins in spaces where people feel seen without judgment and met with dignity.
Music and creative processes can offer access to emotions, memories, and parts of the self that
are often difficult to reach or express through words alone. Each therapeutic journey begins with
a thoughtful assessment to understand a person’s history, goals, and relationship to creativity and coping. From there, therapy becomes a collaborative process where a space is co-created to support authenticity and reconnection with one’s true self.
I am particularly interested in helping clients explore relational patterns, attachment experiences, and survival strategies with compassion rather than self-blame.
Therapeutic Approach
My counselling work is integrative and influenced by psychodynamic, attachment-based, parts-
oriented, systemic, developmental, and trauma-informed perspectives. I aim to create a collaborative therapeutic environment that balances emotional depth with safety and choice.
Sessions may combine creative arts therapy and verbal processing through music listening,
reflection, and other forms of personal creative expression. Clients are invited to explore their
relationship with music — including meaningful songs and playlists — as a way of deepening
emotional understanding and recognizing resilience and growth over time. No musical
experience is required
